Project Description

Michael Forrester University of Kent Department of Psychology Kent, Canterbury CT2 7NP UK m.a.forrester@ukc.ac.uk This is a video-based longitudinal case study of the development of Michael Forrester’s daughter Ella child’s conversational skills. Ella was born in late January, 1997 and the study was conducted during the period between February 1998, when the child was aged 1;0, and August 2000, when she was aged 3;6. The files are named with the weeks of the child’s age. Thus 52.cha was taken when Ella was 52 weeks old.

All participants involved in these dialogs are British, white, and middle class. Permission to record and analyze the transcriptions was obtained from all participants. The transcription uses CA converntions in CHAT.
